The Tampa Bay Living Green Market (PLGM) is a specialized, branded area at the St. Petersburg Saturday Morning Market focused on sustainable products, services and education.

This small enclave within the Saturday Morning Market provides a weekly exhibit of sustainable products and information without changing the overall nature of the Market.

About the Market

With 7,000 visitors each week, the market has achieved an extraordinary degree of success since opening in November 2002. It was organized by a group of volunteers who share a vision of creating a strong spirit of community - a place with a colorful upbeat feeling, where you'll find a unique selection of products, and where you shop with vendors that you know by name. Learn more about how the Market become the talk of the town!

Green Exhibitors

We invite vendors and exhibitors offering sustainable products and services to participate in the Saturday Morning Market starting October 4, 2008. Each Saturday morning from October through May, exhibits provide information, ideas, resources, products and motivation to live more sustainably. Place your product, service, or message at this event. You will meet Pinellas County residents who are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact by adopting more sustainable lifestyles and consumer choices.

Topics

Exhibitors must offer products, services or information about reducing environmental impacts in one or more of the following areas:

  • Transportation
  • Energy
  • Home building and remodeling
  • Yard and garden and irrigation
  • Recreation and leisure
  • Household products and practices
  • Sustainability education and lifestyles

Criteria

Exhibitors must meet at least one of the following environmental sustainability criteria:

  • Energy efficient / Renewable energy
  • Conserves / Protects water and/or air
  • Less toxic Plant-based
  • Locally / regionally produced
  • Reduces waste
  • Durable / Reusable
  • Recycled content
  • Certified (by USDA Organic; Energy Star; Fair Trade; FSC; Food Alliance; LEED; Green-e, other)
  • Educational / Promotes environmental or sustainable values

"Green" exhibitors meeting the current SMM criteria may choose to be located in the TBLGM branded area or in the general market area.

Frequency Guidelines

Ideally, exhibitors will participate in the market several times during the 30-week season. The market will stay fresh and interesting, however, by having some new exhibitors each week. Pricing is structured to encourage frequent participation while keeping spaces open for new and different exhibitors each week.

Review Process

The Pinellas Living Green Screening Committee reviews applications to insure that exhibitors meet the criteria for the participation in the Tampa Bay Living Green Market. The committee also reviews applications for appropriateness.

Exhibitor Fees

Fees include a branded shelter for each 10' x 10' exhibitor space. All of the green exhibitors are clustered together and identified as the Pinellas Living Green Market.

Booths are $100.

Electricity is available on a limited basis for an additional fee of $15.00. We must know in advance.
